Albert F. Robinson
by: Robert

Dear Mary: Albert Robinson was my piano and organ teacher at St Peter's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia in the late '60s. What a wonderful man! Because of him, I went on to become an organist and choral director. Thank you for posting this memory.

Goodness and Mercy
by: Mary

Mr. Albert F. Robinson, organist of St. Cornelius on Governor's Island in NYC during the 1950's when I was a little girl, was my teacher. If you were an Army brat whose father was stationed there, you might remember him. This is for you, too. He told a joke about the 23rd psalm which was unforgettable, in which Goodness and Mercy were two young goats that followed the writer everywhere. As my friend's elderly, sick mother lies dying, I think of her walking through her garden with those 2 little goats following her; I feel she is walking peacefully to the valley of the shadow of death and it brings me comfort. I hope it will also help my friend as she helps make her mother comfortable in the last hours.

Yet again it allows the warmth of our Lord to encapsulate my body and soul.
